Volunteer Comms Training Course

Calling all clubs and club volunteers looking after sports club communications!

Are you a sports club volunteer who wants to:

• Raise awareness of your club?
• Attract new members, volunteers and funding?
• Build confidence in communicating your club’s story?

If so, we’d love you to join our free 5-session Communications Course for Sports Club Volunteers this October.

This course is designed is open to all, with small, community-run and under-resourced clubs in mind. Whether you’ve had no formal training in communications or just want new ideas, we’ll give you practical, hands-on skills to promote your club more effectively, both online and offline.

No qualifications are needed!
You simply need to be comfortable using your smartphone. The sessions are paced to suit different levels of experience with technology.

What you’ll learn:

• Managing club social media (Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp)
• Creating eye-catching posts, flyers, posters & reels using Canva
• Guidance on how to build or improve a simple club website
• Writing clear, confident messages about your club
• Campaign ideas to grow membership and support

Format: 5 sessions (2 in-person + 3 online)

• Session one – Saturday, October, 18th Onsite, The GlassHouses, Dún Laoghaire, 10am – 1pm.
• Session two – Wednesday, October 22nd, Online, 7pm – 9pm.
• Session three – Wednesday, October 29th, Online, 7pm – 9pm.
• Session four – Wednesday, November 5th, Online, 7pm – 9pm.
• Session five – Saturday, November 8th, Onsite, The GlassHouses, Dún Laoghaire, 10am – 1pm.
