Under the Active Cities banner the five Local Sports Partnerships based in South Dublin, Dublin City, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown, Fingal and Wicklow are coming together to create Dublin’s first ever joint SportAbility Day targeting all abilities, all ages and all sports and physical activity.
The aim of SportAbility Day 2025 is to put a focus on the inclusion of people with disabilities in sport and physical activity locally and nationwide. This event will promote disability sport organisations, National Governing Bodies and local clubs and organisations that are offering inclusive opportunities and adapted sports.
SportAbility Day will take place on the 6th September 2025 in Sport Ireland’s National Indoor Arena, Blanchardstown, Dublin from 11am-3pm. It will be a highly interactive day including practical ‘’Come and Try’’ sessions delivered by National Governing Bodies of Sport, demonstrations, and information stands from clubs and organisations that are already offering inclusive activities and opportunities. SportAbility Day 2025 is suitable for people with a disability, parents, teachers, sports coaches, youth club leaders, students, volunteers and anyone with an interest in sport for people of all abilities. There will be a sensory quiet hour from 11am – 12pm and a sensory area available. The venue is accessible and there is ample parking on site.
Some of the National Governing Bodies attending and providing Come and Try sessions include Vision Sport Ireland, Special Olympics, Tennis Ireland, Swim Ireland, Golf Ireland, Basketball Ireland, Paralympics Ireland and many more.
