Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Sports Partnership (DLRSP) is delighted to celebrate the successful completion of its Communications Course for Volunteers, a key initiative aimed at supporting and empowering local sports volunteers across the county.
Over recent weeks, volunteers from a wide range of community sports clubs and organisations took part in this practical and engaging training programme, designed to help them develop stronger communication skills — from crafting effective messages and improving public speaking to building confidence in social media and community engagement.
The course was delivered by Anna Riordan of AER Marketing, who brought her extensive experience in communication and branding to help participants enhance their club outreach and storytelling.
“Volunteers are the heartbeat of sport in our county,” said Cllr Lorraine Hall, Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. “This course is a fantastic example of how we can support and equip our local volunteers with the skills they need to lead, connect, and inspire others. Congratulations to all who took part.”
Participants praised the course for being informative, interactive, and directly relevant to the challenges clubs face today.
“It’s been brilliant to learn how to communicate our club’s message more effectively,” said one participant. “The tools and advice we’ve gained will make a real difference.”
DLR Sports Partnership extends sincere thanks to Anna Riordan for her engaging delivery of the course and to Declan McMahon for his exceptional work in organising and coordinating the programme.
This Communications Course forms part of DLR Sports Partnership’s ongoing commitment to developing local sports volunteers and strengthening community connections through sport across Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.
