

DLR Her Outdoors Mountain Biking
Dlr Sports Partnership & Biking.ie are delighted to bring you a introduction to mountain biking on Sunday 16th August from 10:00 – 12:00, at Ticknock to celebrate Her Outdoors Week.
Mountain biking is an exhilarating and challenging sport that has gained popularity among outdoor enthusiasts in recent years. More women are taking to the trails and experiencing the thrill of navigating rugged terrain on two wheels. Women’s mountain biking has become a movement, with groups and organizations dedicated to promoting and supporting female riders. Whether you’re just starting out, women’s mountain biking offers an opportunity connect with nature while learning new skills. It is a great workout that gets you out in nature and allows you to explore new places. This introduction to Mountain Biking is aimed at women & girls (over 16yrs). It’s also a fun and exciting way to build self-confidence and develop a sense of independence, meet new people and build a supportive community. A very rewarding experience that offers both physical and mental benefits.

How will it work
This is a gentle introduction to mountain biking with some trail riding and an introduction to the basic skills, ideal for newcomers to the sport.

Terrain
The skills are practiced in wide open spaces as we make our way around the blue grade trails. The terrain is a mix of forest road and trail centre single track.
Fitness
Participants require a basic level of fitness. However, during the course there are frequent breaks to accommodate questions and answers. The focus is on leisure and fun.
All bikes and safety equipment will be supplied by biking.ie
