The vision of Active Cities is to engage, maintain and increase the numbers of citizens, regardless of age and ability, participating in sport and physical activity in their city.
The mission of Active Cities is to create the opportunity for citizens to lead healthier lifestyles in the context of sport and physical activity.
Each Active City will be unique in how they carry out actions under the four guiding pillars but partnership working, and multi-city collaboration is encouraged.
Eight Local Sports Partnerships (LSPs) with responsibility for Ireland’s 5 cities have been selected by Sport Ireland to deliver the Active Cities project in Ireland. The four Dublin LSP’s are working under Active Cities Dublin brand.
