SUMMARY:Ballinteer St Johns GAA All Stars
DESCRIPTION:Founded in 2019\, the Ballinteer St Johns GAA All Stars is an inclusive team that supports and welcomes players of all ages with additional needs. \n  \nOur players learn skills through modified games and interaction\, and have a lot of fun along the way. The sessions are adapted for the needs of all players\, and every player is given time and attention to master new skills and improve on existing ones. \n  \nWe have a lovely group of mentors who lead the sessions\, and parents are also very welcome to stay for the session and watch (or join in the fun!) if they wish. \n  \nTraining takes place on Monday nights\, 6-7pm\, indoors from November to March\, and outdoors from April to October on the Ballinteer Community School all-weather pitch. \n  \nWe welcome new members all year round\, so if you are curious and would like to come along to try out a session\, we would love to hear from you!

SUMMARY:Women in Sport Week - Coaching Teenage Girls
DESCRIPTION:Coaching Teenage Girls in Sport is designed specifically to support adult coaches of girls 12-17 years of age. It will enable coaches to create a positive experience of sport and physical activity for girls in their formative years. Enhancing their environment where girls can enjoy their sport leading to the girls positive experience of being involved with sport in their club. \n\nTime: 6:00 PM to 9:00PM\nDate: Friday 6th March 2026\nVenue: Online via Zoom\nCost: €15.00\n\nWho is this Workshop for? \nThis workshop is targeted at adult coaches\, volunteers\, committee members\, involved in female participation across all sporting types\, in particular the club structure. \nCertification on completion of the workshop\, coaches will receive a certificate of attendance from Sport Ireland. \nKey Learning Outcomes \n\nGain an understanding of the relationship between sports participation and physical/mental health for adolescent girls.\nIdentify the key reasons why girls engage in physical activity and sport and why they drop out.\nThe importance of fun and informal participation can have teenage girls\nUnderstand the importance of communication (coach to player and player to player) in retaining girls in sport\nRaise awareness around the effect’s puberty can have in the teenage years.\nIdentify the role of actual competence and confidence for engaging girls in sport and physical activity.\nExamine coaching practices and communication that build’s autonomy\, confidence\, and belonging in girls across team and individual sports.\nDesigning club structures and culture that encourages and caters for relationship building and continuing participation in the club.
