The hall is very large and will allow good movement for the bikes around the hall. \nThis 6 week programme is suitable for children with a disability between the ages of 6 years – 16 years old who are able to sit on a bike independently. \nChildren can bring their own bike & helmet or can borrow one from the Cycling Ireland Tutor on the day. There are two session times available as detailed below along with the booking links. Please book early to avoid disappointment and please\, only one session per child.

SUMMARY:Sports First Aid Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Sports Partnership is running a Sports First Aid Course to assist Sports Clubs in the county to provide a safe environment for those participating in sport. This full day course takes place from 9.00am – 16.00pm in The Talbot Hotel\, Stillorgan Road\, Stillorgan\, Co Dublin on the 26th September 2026. \nOn completion of this course\, participants will be certified in emergency response training and be able to provide necessary first aid while awaiting the arrival of the emergency services. First Aid is an essential skill to have particularly when you are dealing with physical or sporting activities. The course will cover the following areas in Sports First Aid: \n\nAccident scene management\nPatient assessment\nRespiratory emergencies\nWounds and bleeding\nHead injuries and unconsciousness\nFractures and injury to bones\nBurns\, scalds and electric shock\n\nVENUS INFORMATION \nThis course takes place in The Talbot Hotel\, Stillorgan from 9am – 4pm. Please arrive at 8.50am. Tea\, coffee and biscuits will be provided for the mid morning break but participants will be expected to bring their own packed lunch or can avail of the hotels onsite dining facilities/ local eateries available around Dun Laoghaire.

DESCRIPTION:Founded in 2019\, the Ballinteer St Johns GAA All Stars is an inclusive team that supports and welcomes players of all ages with additional needs. \n  \nOur players learn skills through modified games and interaction\, and have a lot of fun along the way. The sessions are adapted for the needs of all players\, and every player is given time and attention to master new skills and improve on existing ones. \n  \nWe have a lovely group of mentors who lead the sessions\, and parents are also very welcome to stay for the session and watch (or join in the fun!) if they wish. \n  \nTraining takes place on Monday nights\, 6-7pm\, indoors from November to March\, and outdoors from April to October on the Ballinteer Community School all-weather pitch. \n  \nWe welcome new members all year round\, so if you are curious and would like to come along to try out a session\, we would love to hear from you!

DESCRIPTION:Founded in 2019\, the Ballinteer St Johns GAA All Stars is an inclusive team that supports and welcomes players of all ages with additional needs. \n  \nOur players learn skills through modified games and interaction\, and have a lot of fun along the way. The sessions are adapted for the needs of all players\, and every player is given time and attention to master new skills and improve on existing ones. \n  \nWe have a lovely group of mentors who lead the sessions\, and parents are also very welcome to stay for the session and watch (or join in the fun!) if they wish. \n  \nTraining takes place on Monday nights\, 6-7pm\, indoors from November to March\, and outdoors from April to October on the Ballinteer Community School all-weather pitch. \n  \nWe welcome new members all year round\, so if you are curious and would like to come along to try out a session\, we would love to hear from you!

DESCRIPTION:Safeguarding 1 Online – Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness Course \nAll Coaches\, Children’s Officers and Designated Liaison Persons (DLP) must first complete the 3 hour Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness Course. This is an on line workshop which educates participants on the implementation of best practice in protecting the welfare of children involved in sport. \nThe Sport Ireland Code has been adopted and implemented by governing bodies of sports\, clubs\, local sports partnerships and community/voluntary groups on an ongoing basis since 2000. It has been encouraging to see the common sense approach to the adoption of the code at grass roots level\, which has resulted in protection for young people and leaders. \nIf young people are to stay involved in sport throughout their adult life\, they need to be equipped with the fundamentals to remain involved with sport and physical activity. Equally we need to ensure that their early experiences are positive and enjoyable\, irrespective of their ability\, gender\, social class\, race\, etc. \nIt is encouraging to see adults\, both volunteers and professionals\, contribute to these positive experiences by acting as role models in all dealings with young people. In particular the work of Children’s Officers at club and national level is instrumental in implementing the Code. We need to build on this valuable work to ensure that all young people see sport and physical activity as an important and valuable aspect of their lives that they will sustain throughout their adulthood. \nON LINE INFORMATION \nThis on line course will take place using Zoom video and audio conferencing service.
