SUMMARY:Safeguarding 1 Online Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Safeguarding 1 Online – Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness Course \nAll Coaches\, Children’s Officers and Designated Liaison Persons (DLP) must first complete the 3 hour Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness Course. This is an on line workshop which educates participants on the implementation of best practice in protecting the welfare of children involved in sport. \nThe Sport Ireland Code has been adopted and implemented by governing bodies of sports\, clubs\, local sports partnerships and community/voluntary groups on an ongoing basis since 2000. It has been encouraging to see the common sense approach to the adoption of the code at grass roots level\, which has resulted in protection for young people and leaders. \nIf young people are to stay involved in sport throughout their adult life\, they need to be equipped with the fundamentals to remain involved with sport and physical activity. Equally we need to ensure that their early experiences are positive and enjoyable\, irrespective of their ability\, gender\, social class\, race\, etc. \nIt is encouraging to see adults\, both volunteers and professionals\, contribute to these positive experiences by acting as role models in all dealings with young people. In particular the work of Children’s Officers at club and national level is instrumental in implementing the Code. We need to build on this valuable work to ensure that all young people see sport and physical activity as an important and valuable aspect of their lives that they will sustain throughout their adulthood. \nON LINE INFORMATION \nThis on line course will take place using Zoom video and audio conferencing service. If you do not have a Zoom account please download the free app from the internet prior to the course using the following address www.zoom.us . Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Sports Partnership will send you the link to the zoom meeting a few days prior to the course date for security reasons along with all the course material. Please do not share this link with another party. Only people booked onto the course will be admitted to the scheduled zoom meeting. \nGDPR \nBy registering for this workshop your name\, email and D.O.B will be shared with Sport Ireland. This information is required to produce your certificate of completion.

DESCRIPTION:Discover the thrill of mountain biking with The Gap Adventure Park & Dlr Sports Partnership on Wednesday 22md April 18.30pm- 20.30pm \n\n\n\n\nDlr Sports Partnership & The Gap Adventure park are delighted to bring you a introduction to mountain biking on Wednesday 22nd of April from 18:30pm- 20:30pm in The Gap to celebrate our Men in Motion programme to encourage more men to try an new activity in the outdoors. \nMountain biking is a fantastic way to get outdoors\, build fitness\, and boost confidence\, and The Gap’s friendly\, certified instructors are committed to making your first experience enjoyable\, supportive\, and completely pressure free. \nThis 2 hour beginner session takes place in The Gap’s skills areas\, designed to help first timers learn safely and progress comfortably. You’ll focus on the fundamentals\, bike handling\, balance\, braking\, and body position in a relaxed environment led by The Gap’s fully certified MTB coaches. The programme is tailored specifically for newcomers and does not require going onto the main trail network\, ensuring a calm and confidence building experience from start to finish. \nWhen: Wednesday 22nd April\nWhere: The Gap Adventure Park\, Glencullen\nTime: 18:30–20:30\nCost: €10.00 \nParticipants require a basic level of fitness. However\, during the course there are frequent breaks to accommodate questions and answers. The focus is on leisure and fun. \nAll bikes and safety equipment will be supplied by The Gap. Please wear comfortable clothing to move in. \nPlease arrive 15 minutes before session start. We will send you a reminder email the day before. \nJoin us and give Mountain Biking a try for fun with zero pressure!
